I hadn't gotten around to using any of the services like the ones named here and wasn't sure of how I felt about them. But this post has actually given me the push I needed to set one up.

For me, the issue isn't Medium subscribers. The overwhelming majority of my readers aren't subscribers, so I'd like to have the option to accept tips from people who've enjoyed my work who don't usually frequent Medium.

One of my pieces, for example, has more than 300k views, most of which have come from people sharing it on Facebook and Twitter. Could you image if half or even just a quarter of those resulted in a one dollar tip? Mwahahaha!!! *Twirls mustache*
