The only people who embrace the Pollyanna-fueled illusions of “Post Racial America” are those who have never lived as a conscious or even quasi-conscious black person in this country.

And it isn't hard at all to gauge racial progress. It's only hard when you turn a blind eye to the easily quantifiable lack of progress and make bunk claims about income disparity in the 1990s that can be easily refuted with a seven-second Google search:

"During the 1990s, the gap between Black and White mean household wealth was *significant* (emphasis mine), with White households holding considerably more wealth than Black households, although the gap did narrow *slightly* compared to previous decades; according to data from the Survey of Consumer Finances, the average White household wealth was several times higher than the average Black household wealth throughout the 1990s, with the disparity remaining *substantial* even after adjusting for factors like income and education."

But hey, thanks for falling all over yourself to help prove Allison's point. 👍
